1950-1960's Vintage Tonka Toys

Here is a great vintage TONKA TOYS pressed steel red truck. Likely from the late 1950's or early 1960's. I am no expert in these toys, but do recognize when something is missing, replaced, dented, bent, etc. Overall a very nice display piece that obviously saw very little use. ALL Tonka Toys tires appear to be original and in pretty good shape, however I am fairly sure there is alteration/replacement of the rear axle since the wheels don't look like the front ones. NO dents or rust. The underside is in good condition. The paint is in overall exceptional condition and looks like it could be original but I can't verify that. The door handles are done very well if it has been repainted. I don't think this toy ever had a windshield, interior, or steering wheel. There is obviously a handmade flatbed that was put on this toy some time in the 1980's. I don't think the grille is original but it is well done. The truck rolls smoothly.
