Vintage Russian Hand-Carved Wood Bear Pull Toy 8" Tall

Up for consideration is a vintage Russian carved wood bear toy.  (I'm assuming Russian based on style; mark on back is unclear as to where it came from).  It measures 8" from bottom of hook to top of ears.  The bear holds a strand of balls; if you pull the hook on the bottom, he raises up the wood balls.  (See last two photos to see it in action).  It is different from most I've seen - seems better quality and more finished.  Local estate sale find.
