Vintage 2000 McFarlane "Where The Wild Things Are" Carol MOISHE Toy Posable Action Figure Measures about 6-1/2" tall on the included grass stand. Can stand without the base as well. Made of a well- constructed hard plastic which is substantial in mass and detailed in a delightful descriptive design. Legs and arms move freely to pose in various positions. I will note the base is more lightweight and supported by a little peg, so given the mass of the figurine itself, the figure has to be balanced just so when positioned on the stand. This is how it was designed and there are no defects or flaws. Overall excellent condition. Story Background: "Where the Wild Things Are" is a 1963 children’s picture book
written and illustrated by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak. The
story focuses on a young boy named Max who, after dressing in his wolf suit,
wreaks havoc through his household and is sent to bed without supper. Max’s
bedroom undergoes a mysterious transformation into a jungle environment, and he
winds up sailing to an island inhabited by monsters, simply called the Wild
Things . The Wild Things try to scare Max, but to no avail. Originally, the wild things were nameless. Maurice Sendak,
author of Where the Wild Things Are, told Newsweek he “never wanted them to
have names.” The names of the wild things in the movie (and their
correspondence to Sendak’s names) are as follows: Carol (Moishe), Douglas
(Emil), Judith (Aaron), KW (Tzippy), Bernard the Bull (Bernard), Alexander
(Goat Boy), and Ira (Bruno).” BN23(2)
