This is a boxed Mattel Shogun Rodan from 1979 with cardboard insert and instructions. WONDERFUL condition and a rare grail piece of Godzilla toy history. Super 7 recently (very recently) released an homage to this very piece in their Godzilla reaction line. Please read fully: First, the negatives: 1. You will need to provide your own rubber bands 2. The head crest has fallen off. Several years ago an attempt to glue it was made but the glue itself has dried out. It will sit in the head socket so long as the head stays in place. I am not sure if a tab that kept it in place is missing or not. I cannot remember. There is nothing on the exterior to suggest that it is broken. You may endeavor to glue it once more so that you can freely move around the head Positives: Basically zero scuffing or paint wear on feet. Plastic has no play wear or deep scratches. Please examine the pics closely to confirm this. All tabs, rubber band hook areas etc. are intact and are not broken. Many Mattel Rodans have some sort of broken tab on the body or feet. This one does not! Note that there are some stress marks on the tabs that connect the body to the back plate, but everything keeps together flawlessly. I have included close up shots of the tabs in question and you can judge for yourself the quality of the plastic. T here are the remains of an ancient rubber band from the late 70s under one of the feet. I have never bothered to remove this. The rubber band hook posts are intact, and thus the articulating mechanisms work, as no tabs are broken. The neck will articulate up and down, but due to its age it may droop without warning. The jaw moves up and down flawlessly when you press down on the lever. Wings are crisp and have zero warping/bending/etc. The box is in great shape, considering the age.
