1930'S MARX WW1-ARMY DOUGH BOY WIND UP TANK LARGE SIZE- TIN WIND UP TOY- 10" EXC - This vintage toy tank is in excellent original condition with only light age related wear - The original litographed finish is excellent with only light wear - There is a bit of loss of finish on the bottom of the tank from rubbing as it rolls along the floor - All original parts are present on the tank - A winding key that fits properly is included, but I'm not sure if this is the original key - The tank does move as it should when wound up, but the Stop and Start switch does not seem to work - The mechanism runs whether the tank is in the start or stop posiiton and it does tend to run fast - When wound up the tank rolls and randomly changes direction as it should - The gunman inside pops his head out and popping sounds are heard that sound like gun-fire. - As mentioned, the tank tends to run fast - when wound up a lot, it will roll very quickly across the floor Overall, this is a fine example of the classic and highly collectible Marx Doughboy tank which dates to the 1930's and is modeled after a WWI tank. This example is in excellent cosmetic condition and works for the most part. It does not work perfectly as the Start and Stop switch does not seem to work properly and it does tend to run fast. It could use some adjustment. Feel free to ask me any questions about this great, classic toy.
